Itinerary
Arrive in Sri Lanka. You will be met by a representative of V.P.I.Tour Travels and transferred to Negombo. NEGOMBO * – Negombo is a picturesque fishing village located on the west coast of Sri Lanka , just north of Colombo. Close to the Bandaranaike International Airport , extending this village on the shores of a lagoon of the same name , is a good starting point before exploring the rest of the island. Consultation with the doctor and treatment according to Ayurveda consultation.

AM after breakfast, transfer to Anuradhapura And Visit the ancient capital of Anuradhapura. The city of Anuradhapura is situated 220 kilometers away from Colombo in the North Central province of Sri Lana.Founded in the 05th century BC, Anuradhapura is revered as the ‘first kingdom’ of ancient Sri Lanka. Considered the cradle of the glorious Sinhalese Buddhist Civilization, this monastic city boasts the tallest ‘dagoba’ of the country and many ancient remains such as palaces, temples, monasteries, ceremonial baths and irrigational network aswell as amazing wildlife and its humble farming community. Anuradhapura is home to the ‘Eight Great Places of Veneration’ (including Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi, Ruwanwelisaya, Thuparamaya, Lovamahapaya, Abhayagiri Dagaba). Declared as a World Heritage City by UNESCO, this city is located within the ‘Cultural Triangle’ of the island. This city is a ‘must visit’ for anyone interested in Sri Lankan heritage and history as it gives great insight into an ancientand glorious civilization of yester year.

AM After breakfast departure in Polonnaruwa. En route, the excursion to Polonnaruwa -splendid medieval capital of Sri Lanka. To the east of the Cultural Triangle, following the Anuradhapura era is the second ancient capital of Sri Lanka, ‘Polonnaruwa.’ This ancient city is adorned with the remnants of the glorious kingdom of the Great King Parakramabahu I. The ruins stand on the east shore of a large artificial lake, the ‘Topa Wewa’ , or ‘Parakrama Samudra’ (the Sea of Parakrama), created by King Parakramabahu I, who was quoted as saying that “not even a drop of water from the rain must flow into the ocean without being made useful to mankind”. Another draw for tourists is the city’s population of ‘toque macaques’. The monkeys have been living in the ruins since human occupation and continued to thrive here long after it was void of humans. Polannaruwa has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

“Sigiriya Rock Fortress” is one of the most valuable historical monuments of Sri Lanka and it is a unique witness to the civilization of Ceylon during the years of the reign of King Kasyapa I. Having seized the power after killing his father through a coup, King Kasyapa chose to establish his kingdom in Sigiriya. After his death, it is believed that the fortress was used as a Buddhist monastery until the 14th century. Sigiriya displays the cumulative effect of science of town planning, arts, architecture, construction, landscape architecture and the science of water management practiced in Sri Lanka in the 5th century A.D and was declared as a World Heritage site in 1982 by UNESCO. The world renowned frescoes of the ‘Heavenly Maidens’ of Sigiriya were admired by many who climbed the steeps of Sigiriya and their admiration was noted in poems on the mirror wall of the fortress.
