Itinerary

Day 1
Arrival in Delhi

Arrival in Delhi and reception by the correspondent on the spot. Transfer to your hotel.
Night in Delhi.

Day 2
Delhi / Shekhawati (240km / 5h)

The Shekhawati region is crisscrossed with roads leading to uninhabited villages and havelis (richly decorated traditional houses). Shekhawati havelis are distinguished by their paintings. Some havelis are open to the public and most are inhabited by guards. Possibility to visit the temple of Rani Sati before arriving in the Shekhawati. Lunch along the way. Upon arrival, check-in and dinner at the hotel. Night in the Shekhawati.

Day 3
Shekhawati

This day entirely reserved for visiting Shekhawati with its villages (including Dhoodlod etc). Lunch in the city center. In the evening return to the hotel and have dinner.
Overnight in Shekhawati.

Day 4
Shekhawati / Bikaner (190km / 3h)

In the morning, after breakfast, depart for the city of Bikaner. The city of Bikaner was once an important stop on the main caravan routes. Bikaner was built in 1488 by King Rao Bika. Today this city constitutes an appreciable halt thanks to its fort and its atmosphere. You will visit in Deshnok (30 km south) the famous rat temple called KARNI MATA TEMPLE which houses thousands of sacred rats, venerated by pilgrims. Lunch at Bikaner. Evening arrival at the hotel and dinner.
Overnight in Bikaner.

Day 5
BIKANER / JAISALMER (333km / 5h)

In the morning, before leaving for Jaisalmer, the most beautiful city of the state of Rajasthan, you will visit the fort of Bikaner called JUNAGHAR FORT. After the visit, have lunch near the fort. Road to Jaisalmer, installation at the hotel. A short walk could be realized to discover the center of this city.
Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 6
JAISALMER

After breakfast, this day begins with the visit of the old city intramural, its famous Jain temple. Then the lower town with its famous Havelis (located on the Silk Road) rich traders.
Lunch in downtown Jaisalmer. In the afternoon, ride in the desert by camel.
Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 7
JAISALMER / JODHPUR (250km / 3h)

After breakfast, depart for Jodhpur, the blue city; lunch en route. Upon arrival check in at the hotel. The afternoon is spent visiting the Mehrangarh Fort. In the evening a walk will explore the famous clock district and see some tea shops and spices, depending on the timing.
Dinner and overnight stay in Jodhpur.

Day 8
Jodhpur –Pushkar (211km / 3h)

In the morning, after breakfast, you will leave Jodhpur to take the direction of Pushkar. The city of Pushkar is built around a sacred lake called Pushkar Lake. High place of pilgrimage for Hindus, Pushkar houses the temple dedicated to Brahma.
Upon your arrival installation in very comfortable tents near the city. Discovery of the camel fair. Dinner and overnight in Pushkar.

Day 9
Pushkar

Start your day with Sunrise at Savitri Mata Temple (you can reach here by cable car). Explore other beautiful temples as they get closed by noon. In evening enjoy heavy rajasthani food along with some traditional shopping. In evening visit the Holy Ghats and perform prayers. After this, there are many activities like horse riding, camel cart and some great performances by renowned artists take place in the dunes during festival.
At night enjoy traditional folk dances and music along with great dinner in the dunes.

Day 10
Pushkar-Jaipur (135km / 3h)

Drive to Jaipur, the Pink City, for lunch. This city is also the capital of the state of Rajasthan. Visit the Palace of the Winds built in 1799 and located in the city center, to discover its beautiful facade whose windows were once reserved only for women of royal families. Free evening for shopping (silks, jewels and carpets etc).
Dinner and overnight at the Jaipur Hotel.

Day 11
Explore Jaipur

The morning is spent visiting the Amber Fort. Ascent to the fort by either elephant riding or jeep depending on the availability of elephants. Lunch in the city center. In afternoon visit the astronomical observatory created in the seventeenth century by Jai Singh II, a great enthusiast of astrology. In the evening visit the Birla or Galtha temple according to the timing.
Back to the hotel and dinner.
Overnight in Jaipur.

Day 12
Jaipur - Bharatpur (180km / 4h)

The city of Bharatpur is well known for its park called Keoladeo Ghana Nation Park. It is a superb ornithological reserve, registered with the World Heritage of Humanity. This park is one of the world’s most important bird watching sites with some 364 bird species listed. Upon arrival, check in and have lunch at the hotel. Visit a village to see the daily life of the villagers.
Dinner and overnight in Bharatpur.

Day 13
Bharatpur / Agra (55km / 1h)

Wake up early in the morning to visit the Bird Park 8 km from the hotel. Return to the hotel for breakfast and depart for Agra via Fatehpur Sikri. Visit Fatehpur Sikri. Fatehpur Sikri is the ancient and astonishing capital built by the Mughal Emperor Akbar in 1571. Lunch on the way and dinner at the hotel.
Overnight stay in Agra.

Day 14
Agra / Delhi (210km / 4h)

This morning visit of Taj Mahal: completed in 1648, this bright white marble mausoleum built by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his late wife Mumtaz Mahal, is undoubtedly the most famous monument of India. It is one of the Seven Wonders of the World. The Red Fort: This fort, whose massive high walls of pink sandstone dominate the Yamuna, contains palaces, real jewels of white marble and red sandstone chiseled and inlaid with colored stones. After visiting these two monuments, lunch and depart for Delhi. After your dinner in Delhi, transfer to the airport for the flight of your return.

Pushkar Camel Fair 2019

The Pushkar camel fair is scheduled according to the Hindu calendar. It starts in the month of Kartik and ends on the Purnima (full moon night) of Kartik month itself. So the Pushkar camel fair 2019 will last from 4 November to 12 November.

What should I buy in Pushkar?

You can buy antiques sold in the local shops. Apparels with traditional prints are available as well. Just like any other fair in North India, you can find all sorts of utility and traditional items at Pushkar fair which you can buy at bargaining price.

How can I reach Pushkar?

Pushkar can be reached from Ajmer Railway station if you’re taking the train journey till Ajmer Junction in Rajasthan. The distance between Ajmer railway junction to Pushkar town is approx 15 KMs. for ticket booking you can contact us.
